Troops kill two suspected bandits in Zamfara

Troops of 1st Brigade, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) on Friday killed two suspected bandits in Zamfara State.

OPHD spokesman Lieutenant Suleiman Omale said in a statement on Saturday that the troops engaged in a fierce gun duel with bandits in Unguwar Sarkin Musulmi area of ​​Kaura Namoda local government area of ​​the state.

He said: “Acting on credible intelligence, the gallant troops swiftly responded to reports of violent extremist activity in the area and upon arrival, engaged in a serious gun battle with the elements, effectively neutralising two of them.

“The remaining bandits were forced to retreat in disarray during the fighting. Troops conducted a clearance operation, during which they recovered one operational motorcycle belonging to the terrorists.”
