Trump a Fed Chair Powell: your resolution cannot arrive quickly enough ” – Thage

Thursday, former president of the United States Donald Trump lashed to the president of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, declaring that his “resolution cannot arrive quickly enough” after Powell warned that the rates could make inflation rise.

Speaking on Wednesday, Powell warned that the proposals of large Trump rates on almost all commercial partners could place the Central Bank of the United States in a difficult position, forcing it to choose between fighting inflation and face unemployment.

“It is very likely that the rates generate at least a temporarily increase in inflation. Avoiding this result will depend on the size of the effects, how long they take to pass completely at the prices and, ultimately, to maintain the most long -term inflation expectations,” said Powell.

His observations triggered strong losses to Wall Street, with the US financial markets that lowered themselves on Wednesday.

Powell, appointed for the first time as president of the Fed from Trump in 2018 and renounced President Joe Biden in 2021, should serve until May 2026.

However, reacting to his social platform of truth on Thursday, Trump criticized Powell for not having lowered interest rates, unfavorably comparing it with the European Central Bank (ECB).

“The ECB should cut interest rates for the seventh time, yet” too late “Jerome Powell of the Fed, which is always too late and wrong, yesterday published a relationship that was another, typical, complete” disorder! “Oil prices are falling, the shopping (even eggs!) Are falling and the United States are becoming rich in rates.

“Too late should have lowered interest rates, like the ECB, a long time ago, but now it should surely lower them. Powell’s termination cannot arrive quite quickly!” Trump wrote.
