Two Nigerian designers to shine at Africa Fashion Week London 2025

Two Nigerian fashion brands – Henri Uduku and Black Fine and Fly – are intended at the center of the Africa Fashion Week London (Afwl 2025 2025 scene, joining some of the most innovative emerging designers on the continent on one of the most prestigious catwalks in the world.

The event, scheduled for August 9-10 in Space House in London, will present the designers under the auspices of the British Council, as part of its program of accelerating the flagship DNA fashion.

AFWL 2025 will show a presentation and exhibition pavilion of the British Council catwalks, highlighting African designers in the initial phase of Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana and Zimbabwe. The platform offers new market access, global networking and intercultural learning opportunities and corporate growth.

Henri Uduku, founder and creative director of his homonymous male label, is already a family face in the program showcase circuit, having previously presented to Creative Africa Nexus (Canex@iatf2023) in Cairo, Egypt and Creative Economy Week 2025 to Harare, Zimbabwe. His designs are known to be a distinct African African narrative.

Black Fine and Fly, a newcomer to the program, is a collective of Afro-European denim inspired by African heritage, style and culture, mixing contemporary design with traditional influence.

In addition to the catwalk and the exhibition, the Nigerian designers will join the corporate clinics, panel discussions with the United Kingdom fashion experts and tour centers of retail and manufacturing centers in London, including Westminster University sessions and Fashion Retail Academy.

Ethical production practices, sustainability models and global market dynamics will also explore.

AFWL 2025 will also push the boundaries of fashion and technology, showing African designers who collaborate with the engineers of Ai Labs and Robotics to create storytelling enabled to technology, virtual reality catwalks and digital avatar for interference virtual windows.

The founder of the London Fashion Week Africana, Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Gunwusi, described the collaboration as “a bold step in the elevation of African fashion on the global phase” while deepening intercultural connections.

Visitors of AFWL 2025 should participate in the British Council pavilion and the Creative DNA Patwalk Show on Saturday 9 August at 16:00.
