With an important step towards promoting innovation and collaboration, the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) and Nigeria have officially launched the technical working group of creative industries, marking a fundamental development in the commercial partnership and the investments (Etip) of the United Kingdom.
This partnership aims to deepen the bilateral ties and create a robust picture for growth within the creative sectors of both nations.
The launch of this working group and a matching event for the leaders of the Nigeria creatives of the creatives in the United Kingdom who took place in London on Tuesday represent a milestone in the United-Nigeria report, designed to increase innovation, creative cross-border collaborations and guide sustainable economic growth and development.
Both events have provided a dynamic platform to explore new opportunities and form commercial alliances within key creative subsectors such as films and TV, music, fashion and design, architecture, advertising and games.
A declaration of the high British commission in Nigeria, said: “Giving priority to collaboration and cultural exchange, the initiative is ready to encourage long -term growth, improve the creation of jobs and unlock new paths for creativity and innovation in both countries”.
He revealed that a reference term and a joint work plan for 2025 were also agreed to guide the group’s attention and efforts.
Speaking of the meaning of the launch, Florence Eshalomi MP, commercial correspondent of the United Kingdom in Nigeria and Coprestrine of the Technical working group of creatives of the United Kingdom, observed: “Today marks a significant moment while we launch the working group of creatives of the United Kingdom. Our nations share a rich cultural bond and a profound belief in the transformative power of creativity, through music, films, fashion and arts.
βThis initiative, rooted in our partnerships of commerce and investments (Etip), enhanced, will guide stronger commercial bonds, favor a deeper collaboration and will unlock the full potential of our creative industries.
“By improving access to the market and investments in skills, we are opening the doors to new opportunities that will create jobs and increase economic growth in the United Kingdom and Nigeria”.
By underlining the need for deeper creative and cultural ties, the general manager of the National Council for the arts and culture and co -responsibility of the technical working group of creatives of the United Kingdom in Nigeria, Obi Asika said: “The creative economy of Nigeria is a global force, driven by our narrators, musicians, designers and digital innovators. From Nollywood to Afrobeats, fashionable to games, our industries are remodeling global culture and trade. However, to unlock the full potential of this sector, we need strategic and support investments not only in the talents but in the institutions and infrastructures that will support long -term growth. “
Representing the Signor, OBI ASIKA from the Nigerian side, Prince Baba Agba, special assistant of the President of Nigeria on creativity, underlined the importance of exploiting the skills of the United Kingdom for impact collaborations: “The creative industries of the United Kingdom are a global reference point for institutional excellence, market distribution and innovation.
