Alhassan Yusuf has played down the injury he sustained during Nigeria’s opening game at the Africa Cup of Nations, against Equatorial Guinea.

On his AFCON debut, Yusuf was stretchered off in the 69th minute after sustaining an injury.

 

Head Coach, Jose Peseiro experessed fears the midfielder could miss the crucial group game against group A leadrs, Cote d’Ivoire.

“It’s just a cramp, we will see if I’ll be available against Cote d’Ivoire,” Yusuf said after the game.

With further examination required to ascertain the extent of his injury, the 23 year-old will now wait to find out if his tournament continues, and he will be available on Thursday.
