Unionian Nigeria condemned the wave of fresh attacks on residents who live in South Africa

The Nigerian Union of South Africa (Nusa) has condemned a new wave of brutal attacks on Nigerians in the country.

They also condemned the kidnapping of an ani silas in a spring, Gauteng Province.

Nusa’s National Publicity Secretary, Akindele Olunloyo, who appointed alarm in a statement on Sunday, said the victim was beaten because of unconscious and forced states taken from his workplace by a television station staff member.

The statement said the Silas striker was accompanied by his media team, private security personnel and members of the South African Police Service Crime Prevention Unit (SAPS) attached to Saps Springs Station

“Many spectators witnessed the attack and abduction that was not provoked, and Nusa had obtained video evidence showing SAPS officers standing while this heinous act was carried out,” Olunloyo said.

He added that the behavior of law enforcement officials in dealing with the Nigerians represented negligence of severe tasks and suggested the potential for involvement in what was some criminal offenses based on South African law.

“Although there is a big search about corpses, hospitals, and police stations in all provinces of Gauteng, Silas is still missing,” he said.

“Formal kidnapping cases (case number: 508/4/2025) have been registered at Saps Springs Station. Nusa’s leadership has been informed that the problem has been transferred to the Directorate of Independent Police Investigation (IPID).”

Nusa demanded a direct and unconditional exemption of silas on Tuesday at 12 noon and also called for full accountability for all those involved in the attack and abduction, including immediate arrest and suspension of SAPS officers who failed to prevent the alleged attack.

Furthermore, demanding formal investigations and arrests of attackers and accomplices on their recurring patterns over hard Xenophobic attacks on Nigerian citizens and public guarantees from the South African authority that the rights of foreign citizens will be protected as guaranteed by the South African constitution and the International Human Rights Convention.

Also talking about development, President of Nusa, Smart Nwobi, asked all Nigerians in South Africa to remain vigilant and peaceful during this critical period.

“We communicate with the foreign mission of the Nigerian government in South Africa, the International Human Rights Organization and the African Union regarding this great problem,” Nwobi said.

He stressed that if Nusa’s demands were not fulfilled by the specified deadline, the Nigerian community in Springs had decided to peacefully occupy the Springs police station.
