Zulum rejects the defection voices, reaffirms loyalty to APC – Thage

The Governor of the State of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, rejected the reports circulating online that is planning to defect by the Congress All Progressives (APC) to the opposition coalition pursuant to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a declaration issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, the governor described his voice as “founded and unfounded”, attributing it to “unscrupulous elements” that try to obtain political relevance.

The reports on social media had said that Zulum and five other nameless governors were planning to leave the APC, presumably aligning with the new coalition movement led by the Adc led by the former vice president Atiku Abubakar and other important opposition characters.

Reacting to development, Governor Zulum said: “We have become aware of a fictitious and mischievous social media relationship that circulates in some neighborhoods, claiming that the plans on the part of Decaminare from Congress All Progressives (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), together with five other governors.

“This is completely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors. They are detractors who have not made any significant contribution to the progress of the state of Borno or Nigeria. It is a classic example of cheap speculation and politically designed to distract us and create unnecessary political tensions.”

Zulum reiterated his commitment to the APC and reiterated that his attention remains on the development of the state of Borno.

“My loyalty towards the APC remains firm and my dedication is exclusively to the well -being and progress of the state of Borno.

“I undermine the good people of Borno and the public in general to ignore this manufacture. We do not have time for low -cost politics; our hands are full of the noble task of reconstructing and developing our dear state”, added the governor.

Zulum, who has been widely praised for his development initiatives in the state devastated by the insurrection, is considered one of the most influential governors of the APC in the north-east
