Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has overseen the distribution of food aid donated by the Federal Government to over 10,000 families in Mafa Local Government Area.
The distribution took place on Tuesday at four centers in the city of Mafa, home to the local government council.
Each of the 10,000 heads of households received an aid package containing a bag of corn kernels.
Zulum, while supervising the distribution, expressed gratitude to the federal government for the intervention and noted that some food items have been distributed in Gwoza and Nganzai.
HE said: βThis food is the latest batch of food donated by the federal government to the state. You may recall that we shared similar food in Gwoza and Nganzai a few months ago.β
The governor also distributed 150 million naira to 15,000 women in Mafa town.
In addition to the cash support, Zulum has also equitably distributed the packs purchased by the Borno State government.
Each of the over 15,000 women will receive a package containing N10,000 in cash and a pack.
βEach head of the household will receive a wrapper and a sum of N10,000 through our microfinance bank,β the governor said.
