14 killed, 450 injured in walkie-talkie explosion in Lebanon

Blasts linked to walkie-talkies killed 14 people across Lebanon on Wednesday.

The country’s health ministry revealed this in a statement in Beirut.

The blast also injured at least 450 people in the Middle Eastern country.

The incident came just 24 hours after a pager explosion killed 12 people and injured 3,000 others.

The attack was blamed on Israel with reports suggesting Mossad, the country’s spy agency, targeted Hezbollah fighters in the blast.

Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the attack and called on Hezbollah and Israel to exercise restraint.

The UN Security Council will meet on Friday to discuss rising tensions in the region.
