No less than 16 areas of the local government in the state of Ekiti shared a total of n13.6 billion as federal allocation between January and February 2025, they revealed the results of Platform Times.
The data, which have been from Budgit and analyzed since the time of the platform, showed that the Local Government received the share of the lion, raking in n1.11 billion in the two months: 503.9 million in January and N614.9 million in February.
Following Ado, Ijero and Ekiti West Lgas respectively were respectively, who received N974.4 million and N900.4 million respectively.
Ijero, located near the central border of the North, obtained N438 million in January and N536.4 million in February.
Ekiti West, home of the Ikogosi Warm Spring that attracts tourists, received N404.3 million in January and N496 million in February.
Other LGA of high gain include: Ikole LGA has collected N894.5 million (N401.5 million in January; N493m in February), IDO-oste LGA received N885.4 million (N396.8 million January; N487.6m in February), IKERE LGA had N848.1 million (N380.4m; January; N467m; N467m in February. AIYEVERE LGA: has received N846.2 million (N379.6 million in January; N466.6 million in February) and Moba LGA, where the dam and the lake I was, received N846.4 million (N379.7 million in January; N466.8 million in February)
Others include: Ekiti East received N830.3m, Oye has obtained N824.2m, Irepodun had N813.2 m, ISE/ORUN collected N789.4m, Efon received N767.1m and EMure obtained N747.8 million
Ilejemeje LGA recorded the lowest allocation between the 16 LGA, with a total of N655.8 million, 292.9 million N362.9 million in February.
The assignments reflect federal legal disbursements for local governments for administrative and development purposes.
However, analysts have continued to raise concerns regarding transparency and responsibility in the use of these basic funds.
The efforts to reach the official government officials of Ekiti and the presidents of the local government for a comment on the use of allocations were underway at the time of presenting this relationship.
