The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ngor Okpala/Aboh Mbaise Federal Constituency, Barr. Mrs Njozi Patrick Ekeji, popularly known as Olaedo, formally kicked off her campaign with the inauguration of her campaign structure, Team Olaedo, in Aboh Mbaise, Imo State.

The inaugural meeting, held on Friday, October 30, attracted APC leaders, former political office holders, youth leaders, women leaders, community general chairmen and grassroots mobilizers from across the local government area.

Speaking at the meeting, the APC Chairman in Aboh Mbaise, Sir Tony Awusaka, described Olaedo’s candidacy as a product of ability, experience, loyalty and commitment to public service.

Awusaka, who urged party members to close ranks behind the candidate, said the choice of Olaedo was not simply about gender or age, but his proven ability and willingness to serve.

He urged members of Team Olaedo to ignore what he described as distracting comments and negative campaigning on social media, insisting that the priority should be mobilizing support for the APC and its candidates.

The Apex APC leader in Aboh Mbaise, Chief Charles Ogu, also expressed confidence in Olaedo’s electoral chances, introducing various support groups who pledged to take his electoral message to every grassroots polling unit, kinship and family.

In his remarks, Chief Eddy Obinna described Olaedo as a humble and credible political leader whose character had attracted several former political office holders out of retirement to support his ambition.

He dismissed reports suggesting that the Nguru political bloc had multiple candidates for the House of Representatives seat, assuring Olaedo of the bloc’s support.

Likewise, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Barr. Alaribe Iheukwumere Henry, has said the Oke Uvuru political bloc has decided to support the APC and its candidates.

The immediate past vice-president of the council, Chief Donatus Nnamdi Anyanwu, also assured that the people of Enyiato will rally behind all APC candidates, including Olaedo.

Introducing the candidate at the campaign structure, the Director General of the Olaedo Campaign Council, Nze Olewuike Eddy, described her as a credible and marketable candidate, expressing confidence in her ability to secure the support of voters across the constituency.

In response, Olaedo appealed to members of his campaign team to demonstrate cooperation, commitment, sacrifice and loyalty, stressing that collective effort would be key to achieving their political objective.

The former Imo State Assemblyman recalled her interventions in the lives of voters, especially widow empowerment, youth support and other humanitarian activities, assuring that she will expand such interventions if elected to the House of Representatives.

He urged the campaign team to remain focused on taking its message to the grassroots and ensuring effective engagement with voters.

At the end of the meeting, the various support groups pledged their commitment to the campaign, promising to work with honesty, discipline and dedication for the success of the APC in the upcoming elections.

Groups represented included former councillors, Arror chiefs, community youth leaders, critical leaders, former ward chairpersons, IMC members, Olaedo Youth Foundation, Pioneer coordinators, general chairmen, women leaders, prosperity coordinators, The Youth Force, ward coordinators and former GLOs.

The inauguration is expected to strengthen the APC’s grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections in Ngor Okpala/Aboh Mbaise Federal Constituency.
