A political group, Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) has announced a donation of one billion naira and 27 branded buses in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential re-election bid.
Donations made at the official inauguration of the group in Abeokuta are also in support of Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola’s candidacy for governor of Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, the convener, Armstrong Akintunde, said the fund would help ensure grassroots mobilization and campaign logistics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that the group has penetrated and has members in all the 236 constituencies of Ogun State, adding that the state will provide the largest number of votes in the South West region for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“Our leader has given us a marching order. We want to assure you that in the 2027 elections, Ogun State will get the highest number of votes in the whole of Western Nigeria.
“This task has been made very easy for us due to the cooperation and efforts of our party leaders.
“This is not about one individual. This is about securing the future of Ogun State. Senator Solomon Adeola represents competence, continuity and a proven track record. We are making these donations because we believe in the vision of the APC candidates,” he said.
Akintunde commended the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his leadership and steadfastness in spearheading infrastructural development and promoting peace in the state.
“We are grateful for what the current administration has done. Our support for Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi is to ensure that these achievements are consolidated,” he added.
