The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that the presidential Nomination and Statement of Interest form ahead of the 2027 general elections will be worth N60 million.
The National Chairman of the party, Moses Cleopas, who disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, also stated that the NDC presidential primaries are scheduled to be held on May 29.
He revealed that sale of forms will start from May 13 to May 18, and advised aspirants to attend the planned screening exercise with relevant credentials and supporting documents.
The statement read, “Sales of nomination forms will begin immediately after the screening exercise from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23, 2026, while completed forms must be submitted on or before Monday, May 25.
“Appeals arising from the screening process will be entertained on May 25 and 26, while primaries for various elected offices are scheduled to be held on May 27 and 28, 2026.

Cleopas further clarified that candidates seeking tickets for state Houses of Assembly will be screened in their respective states, while screening for National Assembly and presidential candidates will be conducted at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, every prospective candidate is required to sign an agreement according to the party’s guidelines and code of ethics.
The NDC maintains that the approved nomination fees are still among the lowest when compared with fees charged by other major political parties in the country.
Based on the approved fee structure, aspiring members of the state House of Assembly are expected to pay N2.5 million for expression of interest and nomination forms, while aspiring members of the House of Representatives will pay N6 million.
In the Senate category, governorship aspirants will have to pay N8 million for both forms, while governorship aspirants will pay N30 million.
“For the presidency, candidates will pay N20 million for the expression of interest form and N40 million for nomination, bringing the total cost to N60 million.
“Meanwhile, female candidates and people with disabilities must pay 50 percent and 25 percent of the fees in all categories.
“The party reaffirms its commitment to a transparent and credible primary election process capable of producing competent candidates for the 2027 elections,” added Cleopas.
