Former Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed regret over the passing away of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, describing it as deeply shocking and depressing.
Senator Omo-Agege in a statement signed by him said: “Senator Ubah was a very dear brother and confidant. A committed patriot, a highly respected business magnate and a passionate parliamentarian. He handled every private endeavor and public governance duty with extraordinary dedication and resourcefulness in the collective interest of our nation. A beacon of hope to many in our country.
“Exuberant, positive and results-oriented, Senator Ubah selflessly chaired the campaign committee that persuaded and mobilized our illustrious peer colleagues in the 9th Senate of the Republic to elect me as Vice President of the Senate. A profoundly good brother and dear friend to whom I owe an eternal debt of gratitude for his sacrificial and steadfast loyalty to a good friendship.
“This is a solemn moment where words fail to convey the true feeling of such a touching and painful loss. Indeed, the sudden exit of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah from this earthly realm raises truly painful questions about human life and its ephemerality. A great Nigerian; a good man; a beloved leader; a helper of multitudes is gone! That’s right! But then, we cannot question the Almighty God who decides our earthly journey as human beings.
“As the nation mourns the enormous loss of this illustrious Nigerian, I urge our people to pray to God, through His Holy Spirit, to comfort and strengthen the wife, children and entire family of the illustrious Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
“It is good!”
