Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum is optimistic that his team can get a positive result against Japan.
The West Africans will face the Asian champions in their final group game at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes on Wednesday.
The Super Falcons are winless in Group B after losing their first two matches against Brazil and world champions Spain.
The nine-time African champions must beat the Nadeshiko to have any chance of making it to the quarter-finals.

Waldrum is optimistic that his team can overcome this obstacle.
โThe way the games went, we still needed a result against Japan and we had a chance to go through, so whether we lost or drew, we still had a chance,โ Waldrum said.
โI think if we beat Japan, it will depend on what happens in Canadaโs group, as they have six points.
“I think it will be difficult for the third place team to get out of that group, so they will get out of the other two groups and right now Japan got the win at the end against Brazil.
โSo, they have three points and Brazil have three points, so if we can get the result against Japan, we will be on three (points), so there is a chance we can still go through as third place in that group.โ
