Enekwechi advances to men’s shot put final in Paris

Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has advanced to the men’s shot put final at the 2024 Olympics.

Enekwechi secured his place in Saturday’s final by finishing fifth in Group B, with a throw of 21.13m on Friday night.

The 31-year-old African champion is the first Nigerian to reach a final in any event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Enekwechi also reached the Shot Put final at the Tokyo Olympics four years ago. This time, he is targeting a top-three finish and a podium finish.
