Nigerian government lifts suspension of Arik Air operations

The Federal Government has lifted the suspension of Arik Air operations.

In July, the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority (NAMA) suspended Arik Air’s operations over alleged failure to pay a $2.5 million debt to Atlas Petroleum International Limited.

On August 2, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended Arik Air flight operations and grounded its three affected aircraft – 5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX -.

Arik Air Limited Chief Executive, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, announced the resumption of the airline’s flight operations in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

The statement read: “During this short hiatus, we have been dedicated to ensuring a smooth and seamless return to service, ready to welcome you back with the convenience and reliability you have come to expect from us.

“Our entire team has worked tirelessly to enhance your travel experience. From our friendly ground staff to our attentive flight crew, everyone at Arik Air is ready and eager to serve you again.

“Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, you can count on Arik Air to get you to your destination smoothly and comfortably.”
