Morata reveals his divorce started because of his wife’s disapproval of his move to Italy

AC Milan forward Alvaro Morata has revealed that he divorced his wife Alice Campello because he was unwilling to leave Spain and join her in Italy.

The Spain international left Atletico Madrid at the end of last season and signed for AC Milan in the summer transfer window.

In an interview with TVE, Morata, who has four children with Campello, vehemently denied any allegations of adultery, and confirmed that they had both decided to end their relationship.

Morata, who joined Atletico from Chelsea, said his wife was unwilling to leave Spain, and blamed his other moves.

“That’s wrong. I was never unfaithful to her, she is the most important woman in my life.

“I am very clear, this relationship is over. We have a good relationship for the well-being of our four children, although there is no going back.

“We both agreed that we would rather end this relationship and start over.”

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea star added: “Alice wants to stay in Spain and doesn’t want to move again.”
