Nigerian international striker Rafiu Durosinmi, recently capped by Nigeria, has sealed a record transfer to Belgian side Genk from Italian Serie A side Pisa, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.
According to Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, a fee of around €10.5 million plus bonuses has been agreed for his transfer and Pisa also owns 10% of his future sale.
A record sale for the Italians that surpasses the previous record of the transfer in 2024 of Lorenzo Lucca to Udinese for 8 million euros.
It is the most profitable sale in the club’s history, as the striker joined the club six months ago from Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic with a contract until the summer of 2030. He scored only one goal and provided one assist in 12 games for the club.
He had an offer to join Turkish side Trabzonspor but decided not to take up the option with Genk, his long-time admirers, seeing it as a stepping stone to another top league in the nearest future.
