Cole Palmer has been named the Professional Football Association (PFA) Young Player of the Year following his outstanding season with Chelsea.
The PFA announced Palmer as the recipient of the award on its website on Tuesday.
Palmer won the award ahead of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka and Manchester United duo Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
Palmer has claimed the award for the first time after an exceptional season with the Blues following his move to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City.
“The 22-year-old has scored 22 goals and assisted 11 in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign, with only Erling Haaland scoring more times than the England international.
“The Chelsea striker made his mark on England’s Euro 2024 campaign. He provided a crucial assist for Ollie Watkins in the last-gasp win over the Netherlands before scoring the equaliser in England’s narrow defeat by Spain in the final of the competition.”
Meanwhile, the PFA Player of the Year award went to Manchester City’s Phil Foden.
