As the wait continues for the final list of 25 players called up to the Nigeria senior squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com can reveal that some players will be returning.

As we reported exclusively two weeks ago, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), through its technical department, has sent a provisional invitation to 35 players for the upcoming games against the Republic of Benin and Rwanda respectively in the month of September.

The list will be narrowed down to 25 names who will be at the team camp in Uyo for the first match on September 7 and subsequently travel to Rwanda for the second match three days later.

Sources tell our editorial team that Orlando Pirates defenseman Olisa Ndah is back with the team as he was among the players who received a preliminary invitation for the game.

Ndah, 26, last played for the Super Eagles at the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in 2022. Since then he has not been included in any squad, we gather his inclusion might come at the expense of Benjamin Tanimu, who found favour in the eyes of former coach Finidi George.
