Advocacy groups under the umbrella of United Nigerians Against Crimes (UNAC), have faulted what they described as inconsistent rulings on the Kogi state gubernatorial election by the Supreme Court.

The five-member panel dismissed the appeal filed by Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Murtala Ajaka as baseless.

In a statement issued on Monday, UNAC Director-General Dr. Abdullahi Yunusa Bayawo said the ruling was a “huge disappointment and a slap in the face of the Nigerian people.”

The statement read: ‘The Supreme Court’s decision is clear evidence of bias and disregard for the principles of justice.
