Police officers in Kaduna have arrested 11 suspected kidnappers and seized weapons in the state.
State police command spokesman Mansir Hassan disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.
Hassan recalled that a district chief was kidnapped on August 14 and released two days later.
He said: “On September 2, at about 5am, Saminaka police officers in collaboration with a local hunting team, based on credible intelligence information, conducted raids in three different villages in Lere Local Government Area.

“The villages are Maraban Wasa, Gurzan Hakimi Mariri, and Abugan Kurama.
“Five suspects arrested for kidnapping district chief.”
The spokesman said the suspects were Abdulhamid Abubakar alias Bala, Danjuma Luka alias Uba, Ayuba Simon, Idi Saleh, and seven others.
“Evidence secured from the suspects included one assembled single-barreled firearm, one green Golf car, one Bajaj motorbike, and eight mobile phones,” he added.
