A Sudanese doctor, Muddather Ahmed Yahya Basher, made headlines after braving flood waters to swim to his hospital and perform life-saving surgery.
A video circulating on social media captured the moment Dr Basher, medical director and general practitioner at Takar General Hospital, swam 20-30 metres to reach his workplace, driven by an urgent emergency.
