The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party.
Abure and other members of the LP’s National Working Committee (NWC) were re-elected at the party’s national congress held in Nnewi, Anambra State, in March.
However, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) rejected the outcome of the congress and vowed not to recognise Abure as the LP national chairman.
NLC spokesman Benson Upah, in a chat with reporters after the congress, vowed that organised labour would never support the party under Abure’s leadership.
