Lonestar Cell MTN launches MTN Y’ello Star competition

Liberia’s premier GSM Company, Lonestar Cell MTN, launches the 4th Edition of MTN Y’ello Star musical competition, a talent-hunt exercise.  

Monrovia, Liberia, September 19, 2024Liberia’s leading mobile GSM company, Lonestar Cell MTN, launches the 4th edition of the MTN Y’ello Star musical competition here. This annual event has become a platform for discovering and showcasing the best musical talents across Liberia. 

Lonestar Cell MTN, in a press release on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, said this year’s theme, “Your Stage, Your Story,” embodies the spirit of self-expression, creativity, and empowerment, encouraging participants to tell their unique stories through music.

The mobile telecommunication giant says the 2024 edition of the MTN Y’ello Star promises to be bigger and better, with auditions set to occur in various counties across Liberia.

 In order to accommodate as many aspiring artists as possible, auditions will be conducted both in person and through online submissions. 

This hybrid format ensures that talents from all corners of the country have an equal opportunity to shine on Liberia’s biggest musical stage.

At the well-attended launch held at Bella Casa, Miss Abigail Nufeatalai, Brand Manager of Lonestar Cell MTN, expressed excitement about this year’s competition, noting, “I’m always excited to tell people who often think that the biggest prize gotten from MTN Y’ello Star is the car; it is not. 

The biggest prize is the skills instilled in you during the competition, prepping you to bring out the star from within.”

Mr. Jonathan Baker, project lead on the MTN Y’ello Star and head of Digital Marketing at Lonestar Cell MTN, emphasized the competition’s empowerment aspect, saying, “Bringing underground artists to the frontline and finding hidden talents is one of my favorite things to do, and with MTN Y’ello Star, I get to do that to my full potential.”

Mr. Rohit Narayan, Chief Marketing Officer of Lonestar Cell MTN, highlights the competition’s impact on Liberia’s music industry. “We are here to hold your hand and ensure that you bring the theme “Your Stage, Your Story” to life and make you the next star.”

She adds that the competition will kick off with regional auditions, followed by live shows broadcast nationwide.

 Accordingly, the company says all aspiring artists can submit entries online through the official MTN Y’ello Star website, where they will also find detailed information about the audition process, dates, and locations.
