The lion killed the zookeeper at Obasanjo’s library

A zookeeper identified as Babaji Daule at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been killed by a lion at the library zoo.

The incident which the Ogun State Police Command confirmed in a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, occurred on Saturday evening after the 35-year-old Bauchi State indigene reportedly forgot to secure the lock and barricaded the lion enclosure earlier. approached the cage to feed him.

Odutola revealed that the open cage gave the lion a chance to escape and attack its handler, which resulted in injuries to its neck and ultimately death.

He added that the victim’s body had been removed and taken to the Ijaye District Hospital mortuary, while the wild lion was shot to release its grip on its handler.
