Moving the day of the Deadline Victor Uudoh of Super Eagles to Southampton

The Premier League club in English, Southampton has confirmed the signature of Nigerian striker Victor Uudoh in an agreement of the deadline before the closing of the January transfer window on Monday night.

UDOH, 20, has signed a three and a half years contract with the Saints, waiting for international authorization.

Initially, Southampton will join the Sub-21 team while its development continues.

In the summer of 2023, UDOH made the leap from Nigeria to Belgium, signing for Royal Amwerp.

UDOH did not waste time making an impact, obtaining 12 goals in 21 games for the junior team of Antwerp on the third Belgian level during the 2023/24 season.

Since he joined the Belgian league team of the Hypebuzz FC Academy in Abuja in 2023, his prolific form earned him a promotion to the senior team, where he has done 28 since then.

However, the left -foot Nigerian star did not register a goal at the upper level.

The majority of his appearances in the first team have occurred as late-substitute cameos, and since December, he has appeared mainly for the sub-23 Antwerp team in the third division.

A club statement confirmed the transfer, saying:

“Southampton Football Club is pleased to confirm that it has completed the transfer of attacker Victor Udoh by Royal Amwerp, subject to international authorization.”

UDOH follows in the footsteps of other Nigerian players such as Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke, who also moved from Antwerp in recent windows.

Once your authorization is finished, UDOH will begin training with your new teammates while seeking to have an impact on the club.

His arrival adds it to the list of Nigerians who have represented Southampton, including Paul Onuachu, Joe Aribo and Lesley Ugochukwu.

The first UDOH steps with Nigeria U17s

Victor UDOH has already tried international football, having represented Nigeria at level U17.

A promising talent with an exciting future ahead, was among the select group of players called by coach Fatai Amoo for the U17 AFCon Wafu B qualifiers held in Lomé, Togo, from January 5 to 10, 2021.

It will be exciting to see the progress of their career, and fans will be eager to see him continue to develop in the hope of finally winning a place in the Super Eagles team.
