Amnesty International Nigeria invited the Nigerian authorities to investigate immediately and impartial to the killing of a player, healthy, from a new market police officer, Sabon Gari, area of the local government of Chachaga in the state of the Niger.
According to reports, Sani was killed with a gunshots while sleeping in his friend’s tea stall.
According to the witnesses, the police officers involved were strongly intoxicated and made a madness in the community.
On Monday Sani was buried before.
Amnesty International condemned the accident, highlighting the underlying question of human rights violations by the Nigerian police during routine patrols.
These violations include extrajudicial executions, harassment, torture and extortion.
“For decades, the Nigerian police targeted young people with clear contempt for the rule of law,” said Amnesty International.
“It is unacceptable that, despite the repeated promises of reform, the police continue to act with impunity, creating a climate of fear and corruption,” he added.
The organization urged the Nigerian authorities to ensure that the managers are held responsible and that significant police reforms are implemented to prevent further abuses.
