On Thursday, the Federal High Court, Abuja, was improved May 8 for an assessment in a lawsuit filed by Multichoice Nigeria Limited on Federal Competition and the Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
The company is trying to stop FCCPC sanctions for increasing the new DSTV and GOTV subscription.
Hakim James Omotosho set the date after the legal counsel for Multichoice, Moyosore Onigbanjo (San), and his FCCPC colleague, Prof. Jeo Abugu (San) adopted their process and submitted their argument about the lawsuit.

FCCPC has called Multichoice Nigeria Limited to explain the March 1 price review of the package.

The commission directed the company’s Chief Executive Officer to appear for an investigation session on February 27 after the Nigerians protested the increase in DSTV and GOTV subscriptions.
FCCPC warns the company that failure to justify price adjustments or comply with fair market principles will cause sanctions.
But in the EX Parte motion submitted by the legal team, the company sought an order while holding the FCCPC and the officers made the threat mentioned in the letter dated March 3, waiting for the hearing and determining the motion for the interim court orders.
He also asked the court to arrest the commission from taking any steps that were able to interfere with their business activities while waiting for the hearing and determining the motion for the interim court orders.
