The Lagos State Police Command has been described as fake and recycling reports on increasing kidnapping along the GBAGADA Expressway in the state.
Command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, denied the report in a statement on Friday in Lagos.
He said: “The order wants, for the umpteenth time, denied repeated advisers on social media that is said to originate from the command, about ‘Increased kidnapping incidents along the GBAGADA Expressway’.
“The order hereby states firmly that the claim that such security warnings were issued by the order were wrong.
“This fake advisor first appeared in January 2024 and was immediately denied. It appeared again in September 2024 and once again denied. Unfortunately, fake news suppliers had stirred him again in March 2025.

“Even so, the order was not unpleasant from the worries raised in the warning.”
Hundeyin said the Commissioner of the State Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a review of security architecture in the area.
“CP Jimoh has ordered a direct review of the security architecture of the entire area.
“The improved security architecture will be reviewed and optimized regularly to ensure absolute security for road users, residents of the area, and all lagos.
“For this purpose, CP Jimoh urged residents to run their legitimate business without fear of harassment or intimidation,” the spokesman added.
