The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has visited the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, assuring the Commission of the support of the traditional institution for better administration of the Hajj.
During the visit, the Emir called for sustained efficiency, timely preparations and transparent communication in managing Hajj operations, particularly in addressing recurring challenges affecting Nigerian pilgrims.
He praised the NAHCON leadership for its efforts to reform Hajj operations, stressing that managing the logistics of tens of thousands of pilgrims is an important responsibility that requires dedication, transparency and strategic planning.
The Emir also highlighted the important role of traditional institutions in mobilizing and raising awareness among intending pilgrims, saying that the Emirate of Zazzau will continue to support efforts to ensure the smooth performance of the Hajj.
“The Hajj is a significant spiritual journey and the comfort, safety and well-being of our people in fulfilling this religious obligation must remain of paramount importance,” the emir said.
He urged NAHCON to sustain its commitment to structural efficiency and timely preparations, while improving communication with stakeholders.
In response, the NAHCON President expressed appreciation to the Emir for the visit, describing it as a significant morale booster for the commission’s management and staff.
Ambassador Yusuf briefed the royal father on NAHCON’s latest policy frameworks, digital innovations and strategic partnerships designed to reduce costs, improve accommodation and food arrangements and streamline air transportation for Nigerian pilgrims.
The President assured the Emir that the commission will consider the insights shared during the meeting, reiterating NAHCON’s commitment to providing a world-class Hajj experience that meets the expectations of the Nigerian Government and the Muslim Ummah.
