The joint service of admissions and information (JAM) called on all potential candidates to its UTME 2025 to acquire the National Identification Number (NIN).
The spokesperson for the board of directors, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said on Tuesday that the objective was to guarantee the capture of the biometric details and other necessary details of a candidate, to check the professional examination of exam.
Benjamin said in a lagos statement that the appeal was necessary now that the registration for the unified tertiary registration exam of 2025 had started.
“The assembly will be, during the recording exercise in 2025, the national identity number (NIN) generated after a successful registration with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
“This includes the capture of biometrics and other details necessary for the recording of all potential candidates.
“The candidates are enjoined to register because the council will no longer be responsible for capturing the biometrics of the candidates before the exam, because all the required information will be downloaded from the data captured by the NIMC.
“From now on, the NIN will be compulsory for the registration of the UTME,” said Benjamin.
According to Benjamin, the board of directors has made adequate arrangements with the NIMC so that potential candidates are registered in examination centers or with their approved agents.
He said that for these candidates who had registered and had acquired the NIN before reaching the age of 16, they would be required to update their registration status in nine before registering for the UTME.
“In the event that a candidate lost or lost his nin, the candidate can recover it by going to the NIMC office; Its approved or compound agent * 346 # (USSD code on the SIM card number previously used to register for the NIN).
“The name of the candidate as indicated in the NIMC database will be the same as that of the data registration form,” he said.
