Following the tone or tenor of the invitation sent via WhatsApp, the opportunity had to be quiet and simple, certainly not a Shindig. Read it: “On 28th Of March 2025, I will be 77 years old. Please join me and my family by thanking the Almighty for bringing me so far away and, we hope, for many other years in good health, happiness and prosperity. I really appreciate the support of friends, family and colleagues on this journey that was wonderful, epic and stimulating. Let’s give GD GLORY. There will be no celebrations of great games, partly out of respect for Lent/Ramadan/obligations. However, family members and friends are invited to my house … for a slight refreshment and some unique delicacies of the North and South! May the omnipotent bless us all. Amen.”

Olorogun Peter Iigho turned 77 on March 28, 2025, but did not look at him. Friends who joined him in his modest residence attested this fact. Its soft and young appearance, perhaps, outsource and exemplifies the peace that enjoys. Incredible tributes to its peaceful disposition, charity work and prolific interactions with different classes of people in an intrusive way, regardless of the differences in age and results in life, always mediated by a great dose of humility, have distinguished dinner. On the occasion, Otunba Otunba Olusgegun Runsewe (DG, National Council of Arts and Culture), Alhaji Idi Farouk (ex DG of the National Orientation Agency), Professor Godwin Sogli (Professor of Philosophy of the National Open of Nigeria), head of the National Open University of Nigeria), Capo Sam Nkire (a journalist and politician), Mr dele) were attended. Olowu (attack for the Whilosophy of the National Open University of Nigeria), Capo Sam Nkire (a journalist and politician veteran) utilitarian genre), representatives of the former Saint John’s College students, Kaduna and some members of the Leadership Urhobo forum, Abuja, of which he is president.

Your honestly was there on the occasion, courtesy of a personal invitation from Olorogun himself. The spirit behind that extension of the invitation has strengthened the affirmation that the humility of the iconic manufacturer of the very utilitarian shade has assumed a distinct life. I met Olorogun Peter Iigho while I was a media Honcho for Capo Anthony Annih (of Benedetta Memoria). During his narrow and solid relationship with the head Annih he consulted for the leader in his area of competence. The boss Annih was believed to have been decisive in his appointment as general manager of the National Lottery Commission. For me and others who were the boys of Annih, it was more a possibility that he did not guarantee any investigation. We could be right or wrong, it didn’t really matter. Olorogun was a constant feature in ASOKORO’s ecology of Anenih, Abuja Home.

In recent times, Olorogun has maintained a constant connection with me, exploiting our mutual relationship with the leader to publish his editorial material in the Conclave, which I supervise as an publisher and editor. I am always happy to oblige him, not necessarily because I owe him that mandatory duty to publish, but because I am in love with his high sense of care and humility that crosses his request every time he reaches assistance. “My brother, kindly assists with the publication of this material.” He would always write. Ready, I would always answer in agreement.

Sitting in silence between Otunba Runsewe and Mike Iigho (his younger brother) where I was served a plate of salad by Olorogun himself, I enjoyed the jokes between and between the circle of friends of Olorogun who have in their last 60s and from the mid -1970s. The only oldest friend of his oldest friend on the occasion was Professor Sogolo Emerito who recorded 79 years on January 4, this year. It was a night of happiness. There was the skarewood at the parade. There was love in the air. The reminiscences of the good, bad and bad experiences of the past have added a significant spice to dinner. The man who declassified the Exploit and escape series was Mr. Dele Olowu. As soon as the two birthday cakes arrived in the living room, one of them provided by Otunba Runsewe, the inimitable Olowu was summoned by Olorogun to deal with procedures as Master compenere. Trust Olowu. He did a fantastic job.

He led the tributes of the dinner through the labyrinth of chatter and laughter before cutting the cake. In fact, one of the most significant points of the night was the special tribute to Olorogun by Alhaji Idi Farouk, who participated in the event in a wheelchair. The tribute that was put in poetry and delivered in prose style aroused dramatic reactions from the small audience. Farouk, whose tribute was read on his behalf, captured the story and histrionics around the person and results of Olorogun, in particular his imprimatur as a manufacturer of soap opera nta as “Crock Crow at Dawn”, “things fall into pieces”, “SunnySide of Life”. “New Masquerade”, “Samanja”, “Mirror in the Sun”, “Village Headmaster” and a series of others.

Runsewe Described Olorogun as a dentyed Nigeria who knew how to relate and communicate through different age groups. Read Runsewe: “It is not envious of anyone’s progress; its doors are always open to welcome people. It is a philanthropist. Celero your life life. You are living well because you want everyone around you surround you well. Olorogun is a great family man and interconnection champion.”

Less than two hours after the trip, Olorogun, in his typically humble and appreciated disposition, sent me a WhatsApp message, to argue: “Thank you so much for honoring me with your presence tonight despite the short notice. Much appreciated. The omnipotent can continue to bless you and the good work you are doing so admirably. Best -C Accidential.” I thought I had to have a load of gratitude for inviting me to his circle and for a little networking. I am happy with the warm reception granted by Otunba Runsewe. It was an opportunity to reconnect and touch the base with prof. Sweat. I trust that Olorogun sent an individual appreciation message to all those who participated in modest dinner.

This is wishing Olorogun many other years of service to humanity and God. God bless you and your tribe, Lord.
