Driver, conductor runs away when the bus kills pedestrians, injuring 2 in Lagos

A bus that drove killed one person and injured two other people in the area of ​​Iyana Ejigbo in Lagos on Saturday.

General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (Lastma), Olarekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed the incident in a statement in Ikeja.

He said the bus driver and conductor escaped from the accident.

Oki said: “Initial findings showed that commercial buses, reportedly speeding, experienced disaster brake failure, causing the driver to lose control.

“The vehicle turned off and forcibly collided with observers who were not suspicious.

“In the change of annoying events, the driver and conductor escaped from the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the victims and vehicles.”

GM said that the agent responded quickly and extract the deceased, which was pinned under the bus, and provided immediate assistance to the injured.

He added that the three victims were quickly delivered to the General Hospital in Isolo for urgent medical intervention.

“During the rescue effort, Ejigbo police division officers provide critical security reinforcement to ensure the smooth operation.

“The accident vehicle since then was moved to the police by Lastma personnel for a comprehensive investigation,” he added.
