Why AC Milan’s Zachary Athekame will never be able to play for Nigeria again!

The Nigerian Football Federation has suffered another setback in international recruitment as AC Milan right-back Zachary Athekame, currently thriving on loan at Ligue 1 side Lyon, has been officially restricted by Switzerland.

His commitment to Switzerland joins a growing list of dual national talents that the NFF has missed out on, including Manuel Akanji, Noah Okafor, Simon Sohm, Isaac Schmidt and Eseosa Aigbogun.

In contrast, defenseman Onyinyechi Zogg opted for the Nigerian Super Falcons, although the Bern-born player remains dual eligible.
