The northern are safe in Edo’s state, says the deputy governor of Kano – Thage

The deputy governor of the state of Kano, his partner Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, says that the Nordist are very safe in the state of Edo, pursuing their legitimate livelihoods of sustenance.

Gwarzo is the president of the Government Committee of the State of Kano, sent to the Edo State to reveal the circumstances that led to the recent killing of 16 hunters in Uromi.

He made the statement on Friday while interacting with journalists shortly after the committee returned to Kano by the state of Edo.

“From the gigantic crowd of northern and people of the Edo state who received us in Uromi and Benin, and the expressions we have seen on their faces, it is clear that the Nordist are very comfortable, very home, that they feel very safe,” he said.

The president said that the visit of the Committee in the state of Edo was a following to the visit of the governor on Monday Okpehbolo in Kano, Bunkure and Toronkawa, where he met and sentenced with the state government and the families of the hunters killed for the murders.

“It took almost two hours to reach Uromi from Benin. There was a great crowd that awaited us, both indigenous and our people who lived in Uromi and earned a living in Uromi. So, what we saw is really encouraging,” he said.

He said that the Governor Okpehbolo personally guided the great power committee in Uromi, where traditional and religious leaders commented during the murder.

“There is a leadership there, the political leadership rejected and condemned this hateful act, this very tragic accident. The traditional leadership was so frank and vocal and sentenced in strong terms the authors of this very wonderful act. Religious leadership has also condemned the atrocious accident.

β€œSo, we are convinced that the entire leadership in the state of Edo and the Kingdom of Uromi are totally contrary to what happened. They rejected him in his totality and condemned him in strong terms.

“And they took measures to calm the nerves of the people of Edo, the extraction they live there and to guarantee and reassure the nation that Uromi and Edo State will continue to welcome people from all parts of the country, in particular the people of the north and the state of Kano in particular,” he said.

The deputy governor said that the government and the people of the state of Kano want justice throughout the matter, including the payment of compensation to the families of the victims.

“All we need is justice and justice must be seen. They told us that they have arrested a certain number of people, about 14 people. And the other encouraging aspect of it is that the governor, as the CEO of the State, took very solid and bold steps to ensure that nothing of the genre happens again.

β€œAnd to guarantee and reassure everyone, all non -indigenous, in particular the people of Arewa and Kano, in particular, that Edo is sure for them to live.

β€œThe governor dissolved the supervisory group and the key figures who perpetrated the unpleasant act have been arrested and others will be arrested because some of them are on the run. The police and the DSS are still looking for them.

“He assured us that there will be compensation for those who have lost their lives and for those who have lost their things, because you know they were returning from Port Harcourt. They had their objects of various categories in the vehicle, and everything was burned,” he added.
