Errors that can make you miss your JAM exam 2025 – and how to avoid them

The unified tertiary registration exam of 2025 (UTME) is just at the corner of the street.
After months of preparation, study and sacrifice, the last thing that any candidate wants is to miss the examination due to simple and avoidable errors.

Unfortunately, each year, many candidates have returned or even disqualified – not because they were not ready on the school level, but because they made mistakes which could have been easily avoided.

Now that the reprint process is underway and the exam dates are already set, it is very important to be very careful.

This article will guide you through the most common errors that can ensure that candidates are missing their assembly exams, and above all, how you can avoid falling into the same trap.

Your hard work deserves good luck.
Do not let the small errors ruin it.

1. Do not print your amount of amount early enough

One of the biggest errors that candidates make each year is to wait too long before printing their examination slip.
Some candidates assume that they have enough time, while others continue to postpone the task until it is too late.

Your amount shift is the only document that shows:

  • Your exam date,
  • Your exam time,
  • Your examination center.

Without that, you will not be allowed to take the exam, no matter how prepared you are.

In addition, early printing helps you detect any problem in time – for example, bad combinations of subjects, errors on your behalf or even errors in your central assignment.

If you are waiting for the day before your examination and the portal refuses to load or you encounter technical problems, it can be too late to repair anything.

To avoid this error:

  • Print your amount of amount immediately if you have not already done so.
  • Carefully check all the information.
  • Keep at least two copies safely – one for backup.

The sooner you set your sliding print, the more concentrated and relaxed for your exam.

2. arrive late at the exam center

Another serious error that can cost you the chance to take the exam is to arrive late in your CBT center.

Jamb works with a very strict timing.
Once a session begins and the biometric verification is complete, no candidate will be allowed to enter, regardless of the excuse.

Some candidates underestimate how long it takes to reach their center.
Others have poorly calculated traffic, roadblocks or unexpected delays, and when they arrive, the exam has already started or even finished.

Even if you have a real reason to be late, once the system has been locked for your session, nothing can be done.

To avoid this error:

  • Know exactly where your center is in advance.
  • Plan your movement carefully, considering traffic and possible delays.
  • Leave your house very early, even if your exam is in the afternoon.
  • If your center is far away, consider sleeping closer to the location the day before.

It is better to arrive two hours too early than to arrive at five minutes too late and to lose your luck.

Punctuality can save your future – do not joke with it.

3. Forget or lose your hack on examination day

Another painful error that arrives at certain candidates is to forget their amount of amount at home or to hurt it on the way to the examination center.

Remember that your assembly examination slip is your official entrance pass in the CBT center.
Without that, you will not even be allowed to pass the security checkpoint, no matter how ready you are.

Some candidates wrongly assume that because they know their recording number by heart, they do not need physical shift.
Others forget to pick him up in the precipitation and the morning panic of examination.

Worse still, some candidates fold their sliding with negligence, damage or lose them within public vehicles.

To avoid this error:

  • Prepare your shift the day before your exam – not in the morning of the exam.
  • Place it in a solid transparent file or wrap to protect it.
  • Make two or more copies and transport a backup copy in case something happens.
  • Keep your shift somewhere that you cannot forget – as inside your bag or with your identity card.

Be wise.
A small piece of paper can determine whether you enter the examination room or not.

4. Bring prohibited items to the exam center

Another current error that can cause serious problems is to transport prohibited elements to the examination center.

Each year, Jamb publishes a list of elements that candidates should not bring to the CBT room.
Unfortunately, some candidates ignore warnings or claim that they did not know – and end up being disqualified or embarrassed on the day of the exam.

The articles that you should not bring include:

  • Mobile phones (whether on or deactivated),
  • Calculators (jam provides a calculator on the screen during the exam),
  • Smart watches or all electronic gadgets,
  • Bags, handbags, wallets or backpacks,
  • Study materials, manuals or handwritten notes.

If you are taken with one of these items, even by accident, you can be disqualified immediately for professional misconduct.
Even advocacy may not save you once the rules are buried.

To avoid this error:

  • Carry only your JAM examination slip and, possibly, a simple identity card.
  • Leave your phone and gadgets at home. If you have to make a phone, turn it off and leave it outside the examination premises with a trusted person.
  • Do not bring unnecessary items to the center. Travel light and stay safe.

Sometimes it’s not what you bring that helps you – that’s what you leave behind.

5. M bad the time or examination date

A small error that has led many candidates to miss their exams in the past is the misunderstanding of their scheduled time.

Some candidates wrongly think that their exam is in the afternoon when it is actually early in the morning.
Others fully mix the date – for example, believing that their examination is 25 when it is really on the 24th.

Unfortunately, if you miss your planned session, Jamb will not refer you.
Mail your session means missing the exam for this year.

To avoid this error:

  • Read your mounting examination shift very carefully. Do not just look at it – study the details correctly.
  • Note both your exam date And examination time clearly.
  • Define reminders on your phone, your wall calendar or even ask family members to remind you.
  • Plan your movement according to exact time – Not what you think or assume.

In ham, there is no second chance for missed sessions.
A simple reading error can cost you a whole year.

Always check your date and time!

Final advice: Small errors can have great consequences

After all your months of preparation, reading and sacrifices, it would be heartbreaking to miss your 2025 JAM examination simply because of an error that could have been easily avoided.

Now is the time to be very careful.

  • Check the date and time of your exam.
  • Prepare your shift and other materials early.
  • Plan your movement clearly.
  • Strictly follow all the rules of assembly.
  • Stay calm, concentrated and organized.

Remember that Jamb will not listen to apologies on the day of the exam.
The responsibility is fully on you to come to the right place, at the right time and with the right things.

Small errors can destroy big dreams if you are not careful.

But with an appropriate preparation, concentration and severity, you will avoid these traps and will work with confidence in the examination room, ready to succeed.

We wish you the best as you get closer to your dream.

Stay sharp. Stay ready.
