Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba headed a contentious majority show on Saturday night.
The couple met in a totally African heavyweight clash at Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull Undamardo in Riad, Saudi Arabia.
Ajagba de Nigeria frustrated Bakole of Congo with a disciplined display of the rear foot.
The 31 -year -old was light while staying and was coming through ten rounds.
Bakole fit at a pedestrian rhythm during the first half of the fight, but became strong in the posterior rounds as he caught Ajagba against the ropes and let his hands go.
Despite this, many felt that it was very little, too late for Bakole, with the transmission of Dazn with Ajagba for two rounds in the final bell.
A judge agreed with his evaluation, noting the 96-94 fight in favor of Ajagba.
However, the other two judges had even 95-95.
The result was not good with the estimated boxing journalist Dan Rafael, who tweeted: “We are going to the score cards in #BakoleAjagba: 96-94 Ajagba, 95-95 x 2. A draw. Risable. Ajagba won that …
“#BakoleAjagba goes 10. Easy work for Ajagba. 8-2. Boxed Smart, landed a lot, good defense and movement.
“Bakole as a dimensional as it is and never landed a great opportunity. #Boxing.”
WBC lightweight weight champion Shakur Stevenson agreed, as he published: “That is a robbery.”
And there was a similar reaction of fans. A follower wrote: “Efe was stolen. Bakole was eating blows all day.”
Another published: “They just steal from Ajagba, won that fight, Bakole’s team could have ruined his career with that movement of Parker Lol. Eddie Hearn or Frank would never put Bakole in the fight of that Parker.”
Meanwhile, a third said: “That fight from Efe Ajagba was not a draw, Bakole lost that.”
Bakole once was seen as the Boogeyman of the heavyweight division.
However, he saw his actions fall in February when Joseph Parker knocked him down on a two -day warning.
