As the bandits nourished babies babies to dogs

“An pregnant woman was kidnapped. She gave birth to a series of captivity twins. So the leader of the bandits took the twins and threw them against her dog. The dogs have eaten them, one after the other. This is something that we have to get up to the occasion. We have to talk to ourselves. Something must be done.”

A member of the House of Representatives, Aminu Jaji, painted a heartbreaking scenario of worsening the security situation in the state of Zamfara, complaining about the way the children in captivity were fed with dogs owned by the insurgents.

Jaji, a member of the All Progressives Congress, has also rejected the requests for involvement of the mercenaries to help the military in the fight against insecurity.

The legislator representing the federal electoral college of Kaura-Damoda/Birnin Magaji, the state of Zamfara, declared it on Wednesday while they turn to journalists in the premises of the complex of the National Assembly, Abuja.

He also kicked against the declaration of a state of emergency in the state, observing that the military forces of the nation could ensure the nation if they were well equipped and motivated.

Telling the ordeal of his people, the legislator said: β€œAn pregnant woman was kidnapped. He gave birth to a series of captivity twins. So the leader of the bandits took the twins and thrown them against his dog. The dogs ate them, one after the other.

“This is something we have to face the opportunity. We have to speak with ourselves. Something must be done.”

He supported the use of technology in the fight against insecurity, excluding the mercenary option, saying: β€œI don’t think in Nigeria we need mercenaries to pursue the war against terrorists.

β€œOur gallant soldiers have the ability to protect the country. But the only thing we have to do as a country is to do a little fact and be more digitized in the way we operate.

“Honestly, I do not register for the idea of taking mercenaries. We must make sure that the resources provided to our security agents by the Federal Government are satisfactory.

“But we ensure the monitoring and effectiveness of how they download their duty and therefore, how they can continue to be supported in terms of well -being. If they are motivated in terms of well -being and so many other things, they can intensify to fight these people”.

With an emotionally charged voice, Jaji fought to paint a bloody image of the newspaper tragedy, unleashed on a people unfortunate by armed insurgents.

β€œOnly in my electoral college, over 200 people were kidnapped by bandits. Two weeks ago, 60 people were kidnapped in Banga. 10 of them were subsequently killed because the community was unable to raise the redemption N30m requested by the kidnappers.

“While we were suffering, another 25 were taken by the Gabake. Just yesterday, new attacks occurred in Kungurki,” he said

He observed that the bandits took on a substantial part of his electoral college, killing and mutilating innocent victims and also establishing as a de facto authority on the locals.

He asked for a review of the country’s security architecture, expressing concern for the fact that those who are close to President Bola Tinubu could not provide him with an accurate report of the conditions of deterioration in the north-western region. [The Punch/The Guardian]
