Four more satellites (three observations of the earth and one radar satellite) have been approved to be launched by the Nigerian Federal Government, led by the Ahmed Tinubu ball, in an effort to increase monitoring and combat the country’s insecurity.
Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, made announcements on Thursday, which was considered a calculated step to help military operations, especially in remote locations such as Sambisa Forests.
Satellite initiative, according to NNAJI, which made announcements at the 222th National Council on Innovation, Science, and Technology in Abuja, was an effort to improve local monitoring capabilities and reduce dependence on import data.

The Minister also highlighted the old Nigerian gap between research and practical applications, emphasizing that even though this nation was full of talented young inventors, he still did not have an organized framework needed to turn their concepts into decent products that were ready for the market.
Real-time intelligence collection for military and law enforcement activities is possible by satellite images and data, which will be used to monitor border, terrorism, and bandits.
With anticipated satellites to replace or improve previous Nigerian satellites such as Nigeriasat-1, Nigeriasat-2, and Nigcomsat-1R, this is part of a greater Nigerian goal to become a technology leader in Africa.
