The 18 best university teams established for the national confrontation in 2025 Oyedeji 3×3 Basketball finals

Eighteen elite teams will face each other in the final round of 2025 Oyedeji Intercollegiate 3 × 3 Basketball championshipwhich will take place from June 19 to the National Stadium, Lagos.

After weeks of intense zonal classification with more than 100 institutions in the six geopolitical areas of Nigeria, the 18 best teams will now fight for the coveted title of “King of 3 × 3”.

They represent the northwest of the Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Bayero, Kano. Of the North Center, the Federal Technological University, Minna; Ibrahim Badamasi Babanida, Lapa; And the Faculty of Education, Minna assured the qualification.

The Northeast is represented by the College of Legal Studies, Yola; Federal College of Education, Yola; and the American University of Nigeria, Yola. The southwest qualifiers include the University of Obafemi Awolowo, the main university of City and the Technological University of Akintola.

From the southeast, the University of Caritas, the Institute of Management and Technology, ENUGU and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka will compete. The South South Zone will be represented by the University of Benin, the Ambrose Alli University and the Dennis Osadebay University.

The founder of the tournament and member of the Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Oyedeji Oyedeji, emphasized the role of the championship in the promotion of the 3 × 3 basketball format of rapid increase in Nigeria.

“3 × 3 is gaining global traction, and Nigeria can’t be left behind,” said Oyedeji. “As a nation that plays basketball, we must take advantage of the growth of 3 × 3 to involve more young talents and provide a path to international exhibition.”
