Men were arrested with fake CFA currencies at the Niger Hajj Camp

The police operation in Niger has arrested a suspect for allegedly having a fake CFA currency at the State Hajj Camp.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, revealed this in a statement on Thursday in Minna.

He said the police on May 18 received information that a syndicate who specialized in selling alleged false currencies to unpurder pilgrims was seen in the Hajj camp.

He added that the police operation attached to the Bosso division was quickly mobilized to the scene and arrested a Mohammed taba.

According to him, the suspect was found to have 40,000 Franc CFA who was suspected of being a counterfeit currency.

The spokesman said: “In the investigation, the suspect claimed that he stole the currency from the house of a Mohammed from Kwara, when he left to carry out agricultural activities for him.

“The suspect is detained, where further investigation is being carried out to ensure the origin of the currency.”
