The Executive Committee of the great Nij class of 1986, which was recently elected and inaugurated, has undertaken to exploit the connections, scope and resources of the members to improve and improve their circumstances, also ensuring that their well -being would be the main concern of the body.
The group is made up of full -time diploma in the journalism class, which graduated from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) in 1986.
By obtaining his inaugural speech, the president of the pioneers, Muyiwa Akintunde, expressed gratitude to his classmates for the trust placed in the Executive Committee, which was elected in the group’s general assembly on Sunday 18 May 2025 and ensured that the leadership team would not have taken their confidence by concession.
According to a Thursday declaration by his public relations official, Mr. Uzoma Isiakpu, the president promised the determination of his committee to operate at any time in the best interest of the group, underlining that the management body would be right for everyone by listening to them and acting accordingly.
Akintunde, who is a consultant to public relations and editor of online newspapers, has assured that the executive committee would have committed to supporting and defending the collective values of the group. But if necessary, it would make difficult decisions for the greatest good of the members.
The president said that a welfare committee to develop the requests of the members and formulate recommendations on how to assist them, based on the agreed guidelines, would soon be constituted.
In support of this, Akintunde said that a committee would report to the Chamber on the appropriate insurance system that would allow the group to manage the medical and correlated health conditions of the members.
The president said that another committee would also be responsible for planning for the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the members of the members from the Nij, which presents itself in the second half of next year.
He also said that a task force to mobilize the members who were not yet to identify with the group was on offer and appealed to the members to collaborate with the team in the execution of his assignment.
Other officers have elected to pilot the affairs of the great Nij class of 1986 are: Mrs. Tina Mordi-Aimufua (vice-president), the shepherd Fola Williams Ojo (Secretary General), Mr. Frank Jumbo (General Secretary Assistant), Mrs. Yemensi Sololahan (treasurer), Adeyinka Badewa; (Financial Secretary), Mr. Uzoma Isiakpu (public relations official) and Mr. Taye Ige (welfare/social secretary).
The inauguration was supervised by a planning committee, which organized a meeting of the last Easter on Monday and also managed the association, including the conduct of the election of officials in the executive committee. It was chaired by Mr. Sam Uko with other members who is Otunba Gbenga Onaayiga, Jumbo, Sololahan and Akintunde.
