Spanish side Valencia are weighing the possibility of signing Nigerian striker Josh Maja following his departure from Sky Bet Championship side West Bromwich Albion. completesports.com information.
Maja is currently available on a free transfer after his contract with the Baggies expired at the end of the 2025/26 season, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their attack without paying a transfer fee.
The 27-year-old is understood to be on Valencia’s short list as manager Carlos Corberán looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Corberán knows the striker well having been together at West Bromwich Albion, where he helped Maja rediscover her goalscoring form before injuries disrupted the Nigerian’s progress.

Despite spending a long period on the sidelines last season, Maja still showed his quality every time he appeared and remains highly rated for his intelligent movement, finishing ability and composure in front of goal.
The former Sunderland striker joined West Brom from French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in 2023 and established himself as one of the club’s key attacking players.
Maja was also on loan at Fulham and Stoke City
Valencia are expected to face competition from a number of clubs in England and Europe for the signature of the striker, who is eager to return to action after becoming a free agent this summer.
