Police Chapter Two for allegedly collecting N14M ransom, killing the ONITSHA female banker

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects accused of kidnapping and killing a female bank manager in Onitsha, despite collecting the ransom of N14 million from his family.

Police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Sunday, identified the suspects as 32 -year -old Monday Egbe and Kenneth Nnoga who was 28 years old. He stated that they were arrested on May 28, 2025, after an intensive investigation brought officers to their hiding places in neighboring countries.

The victim’s body was found on January 13, 2025, along the Nnobi Road, his eyes were blindfolded and lifeless, a few days after the kidnappers secured the ransom from the people he loved.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga noted, “The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to uncover the modus operandi of the criminal gang and the possibility of arresting other members.”

He further stated that the Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu, had reiterated the commitment of the order to ensure the safety and justice for all citizens.

“Police Commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu, has convinced that the order will continue to protect life and property, follow up on cases, and ensure justice is served,” Ikenga said.
