The governor of the State of Borno, prof. Babagana Zulum, he donated N100 million to help the families of killed soldiers and those injured in the current fight against the insurrection in the northern -eastern region.

The donation was made on Saturday in a lunch by Eid El-Kabir Sallah jointly hosted by the head of the army staff, the lieutenant general Olufemi Oluyede, and the head of the air staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, held to Maimalare Barracks in Maiduguri.

Zulum praised the resilience and patriotism of the Nigerian armed forces, underlining that their sacrifices should never be forgotten. He said: “Your commitment to the front line, often in extreme conditions and far from your families, is not lost on us. We are eternally grateful for your service and will never give your sacrifices for granted.”

The governor has also ensured the military leadership of his continuous support, stating that: “Borno State will continue to stand on his shoulder with the Nigerian army and all the security agencies in the fight against the insurrection and reconstruction of our communities for a peaceful and prosperous future”.
