FG: Civil Service to go without paper by December

The Federal Government [FG] On Wednesday he announced that the Nigerian civil service would become completely without paper by December 2025.

The head of the Civil Service of the Federation, dr. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, announced it during a briefing in Abuja on Wednesday to commemorate the day of the African public service of 2025 and the week of civil service.

Walson-Jack said that the move was in line with the federal strategy of the civil service and the 2021-2025 implementation plan, which will end at the end of the year.

He said: “Even before taking the office, the Ohcsf had already gone without paper. Now we are working to accelerate this transformation in all MDA.

“Just last week, I was at the Federal Health Ministry to launch their business content management systems making them the eleventh ministry to go without paper. The rest is in different implementation phases.

“We involved partners to help finance digital transitions in some of the ministries. The race at 31 December 2025 is on and, with hard work and the grace of God, the Nigerian civil service will be completely without paper by 31 December 2025.”

Walson-Jack has further outlined the activities planned to mark the day of the African public service of 2025 and the week of civil service.

He also said that a recent study tour in Singapore was part of preparatory activities aimed at positioning the Civil Service of Nigeria for excellence and attracting global participation in the next events.

“The study tour in Singapore was the first great activity that we undertaken under the collaboration between the office of the head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the service leaders of the 36 States and the FCT,” he said.

According to her, the visit, supported by the United Nations development program, involved 20 state service and was designed to compare the best global practices and improve the supply of public services of Nigeria.

“The idea was born from our current collaboration, in which we share ideas and knowledge at the federal and state level,” he added.
