Operations of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (Ndlea) have arrested a 44 -year -old businessman, Ezemokwe Chukwuebukan Christian, for swallowing 53 packs of cocaine pellets at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA).
The Director of the Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi who revealed this in a statement on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested by the operators on his journey to Tehran Khomeini, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The agency spokesman said Christian, was trying to take a Qatar Airways QR1434 flight to fly to Iran through Doha when the body scan detected that he had digesting drugs.
Babafemi stated that the arrest of the suspect came almost two weeks after their colleagues at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, intercepting a 60-year-old businessman, Chinedu Leonard Okigbo, who also headed to Iran with 65 cocaine pellets in his stomach.

“Ezemokwe was arrested at Port Harcourt Airport on Saturday, June 7, while trying to take the Qatar Airways QR1434 flight to Tehran Khomeini in Iran through Doha.
“After the body scan proved positive for swallowing drugs, it was placed in observations of excretion in which it issued 53 packs of cocaine in six excretion with a total weight of 1,172kg.
“The suspect claims to have entered the criminal trade two years ago, moving between the sub-regions of West Africa and Iran.”
