The candidate of the Labor Party in the next competition of governors of November 8 in the state of Ambra, the head George Moghalu, sentenced the families of the students killed by the Federal Polytechnic Oko, in the state of Anambra with the families of the students.
Last Thursday, unidentified armed men attacked the institution that leads to the killing of two students, the kidnapping of two others and the inflicted of serious physical damage on many others.
Committing with the families of the victims in a Sunday declaration, the hope of the Governorate Moghalu, through his director of the media and advertising, Dr. Ikenna Agu, described the accident as “brazenly and heartbreaking”.
The declaration stated: “It is with a deeply anguished heart and a spirit amounted to the pain that I, the leader Dr. George Moghalu, transmit my deep condolences to the families in mourning, the entire student body, the academic staff and the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, following the Dastardly and Heartwrenching attack by the cannons on the night of Thursday, 20 June, 2025.
“This unspeakable tragedy, which led to the violent and premature disappearance of two vibrant students, the kidnapping of two others and the inflicted serious physical damage on many others, has left an indelible stain on our collective consciousness.
“The horror of that night – marked by indiscriminate shots, fear and panic – arises of a brutal affair to the holiness of life, to the dignity of learning and the soul of the state of Anambra itself.
“I am devastated beyond the words. That an institution of higher education – a sacred citadel of lighting, aspiration and youthful dreams – has become a theater of bloodshed in a state that should be a lighthouse of peace and safety, is both morally frightening and politically harmful.
“No society can claim civilization when its young people are slaughtered in cold blood for no just cause. No government can beat the chest in pride while its future generation is silenced by the bullets to their peak. We cannot continue like this.
“This atrocious crime is one too much. He underlines a frightening and systemic collapse of the law and the order in our beloved state of anmber.
“The creeping normalization of violence, in particular around our academic institutions, is a ruin that must be addressed urgently, sincerity and firmness. Our students deserve protection. Our campus must remain sanctuaries of safety and learning – not hunting for criminal bands and worship monsters.
“To the families in mourning, none of mine can fully alleviate the anguish of your unimaginable loss. I extend my heartfelt condolences and please that almighty God grants you the fortress to bear this serious weight.
“For the injured and currently fighting for their lives, please for your rapid and complete recovery. To the kidnapped, we lift our collective voices in prayer, exhorting the skies and authorities for your immediate and safe return.
“I am absolutely solidarity with the entire Oko Polytechnic community in this moment of collective pain. Your pain is our pain. Your trauma is ours. I share your tears and raise your voice – not only to cry but to ask for justice.
“I notice that a government that cannot guarantee its people, in particular its students, has failed in its primary obligation. While I recommend the quick deployment of a joint task force, I must also request more lasting safety strategies, intelligent and oriented to people who prevent and prevent these catastrophes. This must never happen more”.
